Postgraduate Lectures

The Autumn 2014 postgraduate lecture series is designed for new PhD and Masters students who have little to no knowledge of accelerator physics or engineering. There are 5 lecture courses which introduce the basics concepts in accelerator physics and engineering which cover beam dynamics, magnet design and the fundamentals of RF.

Introduction to Accelerators

Dr Mike Poole, Former Director of ASTeC

Relativity and Elements of Electromagnetism

Dr Jonathan Gratus, University of Lancaster and Cockcroft Institute
Dr Chris Prior, ASTeC, University of Manchester and Cockcroft Institute

Transverse and Longitudinal Beam Dynamics

Dr Rob Appleby, University of Manchester and Cockcroft Institute

Conventional Magnets for Accelerators

Prof Neil Marks, ASTec and Cockcroft Institute

Fundamentals of RF

Dr Graeme Burt, University of Lancaster and Cockcroft Institute
